This is a whisky taking the world by storm: the inaugural release from the innovative InchDairnie Distillery, the 2017 vintage of RyeLaw, showcasing distinctive rye flavour unlike any other Scotch whisky. The precious liquid was matured in newly charred oak casks sourced from the Ozark Mountains, USA. This spectacular bottle is beautifully presented and features three ripples on the side to illustrate the distillery’s 3Ms philosophy (pushing the boundaries of flavour through the materials, method and maturation).
To provide a bit more detail on InchDairnie Distillery, based in the Kingdom of Fife, their innovative approach to doing things generates several “firsts” for the Scotch whisky industry; some of the firsts have been distillation of oats, wheat and sour mash to name but a few, or the use of a hammer mill, which grinds grain into a fine powder for better flavour extraction. All of these contribute to renowned whisky writer Dave Broom stating “other distillers will be looking at InchDairnie for years to come”.
Tasting notes: aromas of rye spice, mellow oak and a soft underlayer of vanilla bean. The palate explodes with spicy pepper, sweet biscuits, cereal and dried fruit, with a finish full of sweet spice. A delicate and endlessly sippable rye whisky. 700ml, 46.3% Alc./Vol.
